About Us

A moving company dedicated to self service and DITY moves, Elite Moving LaborTM provides professional movers for individuals, college students, service members and businesses that have secured their own transportation method. Our customers typically rent their own truck rental, POD, portable storage container or freight trailer and require our movers to load, unload or pack it. Because a self service move is much more affordable than full service vanlines the need for moving labor continues to grow.

History

Elite Moving Labor was founded on June 21st, 2004 in Germantown, Maryland. From 2004 until 2008, Elite Moving Labor was named Pacific West Moving, the name change was part of a branding strategy to more accurately describe our niche service of moving labor.

In 2004 Elite Moving Labor was one of a dozen moving labor companies that specialized only in providing labor for self service moves. Because of the lack of competition and the growth of the self service industry, Elite Moving Labor became the leading provider of moving labor services in the Washington D.C. Metro. As a result of their success, Elite Moving Labor opened three Budget Truck and Car locations in 2007 to assist their customers with truck rentals, moving supplies and to provide a more complete service. Two locations were in Montgomery County Maryland, Gaithersburg and Bethesda, while the third was located in Tampa, FL. After a little over a year in business the operations of those locations were given back to Budget Truck due to the recession and poor sales.

In 2009 Elite Moving Labor expanded their operations to Tampa, FL and began a large nationwide campaign. In April of 2009 Elite Moving Labor became the fastest growing moving labor services company and now books jobs in all major cities and states while still providing internal service in the Washington D.C. Metro and Tampa, FL. In October of 2009 Elite Moving Labor announced plans to license their brand name and in 2010 and they launched the first non-profit trade association for the moving labor services industry, the AMLPA. To prevent a conflict of interest, Elite Moving Labor holds only one of five positions on the Board, all with an equal share of power.

In September 2010, the company announced that they had added two brand license locations since the initial offering in April, one location in Union, New Jersey and another in Kansas City, KS. The program has three additional licensee's in the pipeline and plans to add 15 more during 2011.
