Apartments and High Rise Buildings
There are many types of apartments and high rise buildings. The fastest completion times occur when the apartment is ground floor or in a high rise, when there is a reserved elevator and loading dock. Multiple sets of stairs, landings, an elevator that is not reserved and long carries can result in a significant amount of additional time. For a better estimate customized to your unique situation please contact us with details and we will be happy to give you a cost and time estimate.

Small Trucks (10'-12'): When To Use Them

A small rental truck should only be used for very small moves with minimal furniture. Most trucks this size tend to have wheel wells that stick up and limit your floor space, check with your specific truck rental company to be sure. We recommend a small truck for studio apartments or partial moves consisting mostly of boxes.

Medium Trucks (14'-17'): When To Use Them

These are the most common truck rentals for residential consumers. A medium truck (14' and 17' for U-Haul, 16' for Budget and Penske) can generally accommodate up to a 2 bedroom apartment or small home with about 1,000 square feet. Every home is different and so is every person, but a medium truck should accommodate a large apartment or small home.

Large Trucks (22'-26') When To Use Them

Used for single family homes and town homes, large trucks are your best bet for 1,500 square feet or more. Penske offers a 22' and 26', Budget offers a 24' and U-Haul offers both 24' and 26'. Large trucks can hold a lot of items but remember these can be tough to drive. We recommend using Penske Truck Rental or Budget Truck Rental as their trucks tend to be newer and in better condition than other rental companies.
